Floating: The Pathway to Play by Float Ambassador, Ellen <3
As a life long silly person I know the importance of jovial play

I tend to find my way to the tank after periods of stress and tension. What leads up to that great act of self love is days & weeks of unnoticed mental exhaustion. Time passing without offering myself solitude. As a mother, I hope that the deep feelings of relaxation will lull me off to an extra few moments of sleep.

But every single time, what meets me is PLAY!

~ As a spiritualist, I naturally associate sensory deprivation to heightened meditative states. It’s as though I think shutting off the material world around us will instantly lift me into the cosmos; so when I am reunited favourite Aquarian float tank I am always surprised by what follows.

I make my way back into my body. I wiggle. I squiggle. I move & stretch. I’m reminded how important it is to shift sensation out of the physical body so emotionally and mentally I can thrive. How incredible is it to be connected to our bodies. A gift that I  often overlook because of the constant need to do & take care of. What I expect to be 75 minutes of stillness, turns into a chrysalis for expansive adult play time!

~As a life long silly person I know the importance of jovial play. Without the worry of being witnessed, judged or seen we have full creative control of how we physically express ourselves. That leaves room to release so tension we didn’t know was stored in our gorgeous bodies.

Maybe next time I’ll blast off into the stars, but for now I’m so grateful to remember how to feel & navigate the planet we are on.✨
