Floating ~ a path of reconnection by TFC Float Ambassador Jody

What it means to come home to yourself and how my float practice is a BIG part of that…

We hear this a lot…you need to come home to yourself but what the heck does that even mean?! It comes off as a buzz word (and if you know me you know I hate a “buzz word”) but the truth is there is a path of reconnection, a journey of getting to know yourself all over again that is truly like coming home. Existing as a human in this timeline feels a bit like the world is trying to keep us disconnected…from ourselves and from each other. Creating divisiveness, shoving distractions at us at light speed, it's as though they know that this disconnection takes our power away. I am here to remind you that resistance can show up in many ways both big & small. One way to push back is to get quiet and regain your power by reconnecting to yourself on a deep core level.

Making this connection you realize that the feeling/space/time you have been searching for has always been within you, you just need to find your way back to it. I speak to this from a place of raw exploration and personal experience…it has meant a deep reconnection to my inner world, the kind of connection that is only possible between you and your soul.

Contrary to what the world may tell you this can be accomplished without any fancy retreats or classes…all you need to get started is 5 minutes of quiet and an intention to be present with yourself. You can start with something as quick & easy as getting quiet, pause and take 5 deep breaths…be present with the breath, how does it feel? Notice how your body expands and contracts as the breath moves in and out, with zero expectation or judgement simply allowing the body to feel.

The float tank creates a beautiful space for you to continue to explore what it feels like to be in connection with yourself. And while, for me, every float more or less begins the same, each ends up being a truly unique experience. As I slip into the void of the tank I take time to check in with how I am TRULY feeling,  is the tension/anxiety/stress sitting in my body (physically & energetically) then I focus on letting it melt away as I release my physical body to the tank. Does this work perfectly every time? Of course not, this is why it is a practice!!
