TM @ TFC

Transcendental Cat

Two years ago, my partner and I made the commitment to forego birthday, Christmas, anniversary, etc gifts for one another and instead, invest in learning Transcendental Meditation. We completed our training just as the world was slipping into Quarantine earlier this year and have been grateful for this simple, charming and effective form of meditation during a time where our cup is running over from stress. I often share with folks that if it wasn’t for TM, I wasn’t sure how I’d re-open a business during the middle of a global pandemic. Let’s just say that I’m grateful for the practice. [In February I set the intention that if I’m still practicing TM in 5 years time, I would study to become a TM teacher. Check in on me in 4.5 years!].

Fast-forward a few months when I was contacted by our TM instructor, Christopher, to see if he was able to teach at TFC as the organization won’t allow home sessions due to COVID-19. It is an honour and a privilege to be able to host him and Sandra, his wife, in our space.

Upon opening TFC 5+ years ago, one of my goals was to be sneaky and trick folks into meditation. Floating assists folks with getting into the meditative state by reducing the amount of external stimuli that our brains are processing. Many people will come out of their float and say “I think I just meditated!”and they aren’t wrong. Being able to offer a service that allows humans to experience this deep state of relaxation, is truly a gift to us which is why it made sense to offer TM in our space.

If you’re keen to learn more about TM, please feel free to reach out to Christopher HERE. I’d also like to share a few videos HERE, HERE and HERE that have helped me take a deeper dive and learn more about TM.

Hanging out with my new BFF, Mr David Lynch.
