Credit Cards Now Required for ONLINE Bookings

This post bums me out, man.  Really, really bums me out.

On Sunday, 5 of 8 appointments were no shows.  Straight up, just didn’t show.  I thought to myself “Who could miss an amazing float session?”.  Seventy-five minutes of pure, relaxing, meditative bliss? SIGN ME UP (and I’ll be there).  This has been an ongoing trend but Sunday was the day that I decided to put on my business pants, and make some necessary changes to our online booking system.  The reason for this is two-fold: 1. We have a wait list of folks who’d love to get in for an appointment ASAP, and 2. Now, more importantly than ever, these actions directly influence a new, small business.  Gotta have some respect & accountability, yo!

Going forward: a credit card will be required to HOLD all appointments booked at The Floatation Centre.  Payment for the appointment can be made using other methods (cash, debit, kittens) when you arrive.  If you do not have a credit card, please call or email us, and we will be more than happy to book your appointment for you.

Don’t want to miss your appointment? Here are a few tips:

  • Write it down, put the appointment into your calendar, set a reminder on your phone, get your mother-in-law to call you every 2 hours to remind you of your appointment (and many of your other perceived downfalls);
  • Make sure your email address/contact information is up to date to receive confirmation & reminder emails;
  • Check the settings on your email account to ensure the reminder emails aren’t sent to your spam;
  • Put the appointment into your calendar; and,
  • Call or email to confirm.

Two emails automatically are sent prior to your appointment: one upon booking and a reminder email two days before your scheduled appointment.

And for those who love the fine print, here is how our policy reads when you Agree to your appointment online:

If for any reason you cannot attend a scheduled float time, please give us a shout at hello@thefloatationcentre.com or by phone at 902-45-FLOAT (902-453-5628).  We will be happy to help you reschedule.  You can also reschedule online, prior to the 24-hour cancellation period, by signing into the Mind Body Online account you created when booking your appointment.

Please be aware a cancellation fee of $40 may be charged for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time.  At our discretion.  No shows will be charged the FULL PRICE of their missed float.  We’re starting to get strict about this tidbit.  Sorry, folks.

It is very important that guests be on time for their appointments. If a guest is late (past 15 minutes) the guest will need to reschedule to avoid scheduling conflicts. This will result in no refund.  So be on time – or give us a heads up if you’re running late.
